A great turn out this week to the CIBSE Lift Group Accessibility seminar in Manchester. I was pleased to present the session on BS 8300: Design of accessible and inclusive built environment. It is very important that we design accessible and inclusive buildings. We had a great question and answer session where we discussed; the conflicts between British Standards for accessibility for buildings (BS 8300) and lifts (BS EN 81-70); the change from disabled access to accessibility, i.e. from a negative to a positive; other related issues.
